  ok, i think the writing department has well and truly lost the plot now!.

  on page 14 of the august 15th watchtower, there is an extensive section on the perils of the internet, with the caption "do you heed bible-based warnings about the internet?

  " in large intimidating letters.

  ... I also think the internet pornography issue is a "Red Herring" invoked to cloak their real concern ...the JWs' discovery of sites like this!

  Cedars: "For me, this paragraph pretty much sums up the Society's dilemma regarding the internet. They can't deny that they've come to rely on it operationally..."

  ... not to mention that they're about to significantly increase their operational usage of the internet as we learned on April 2.

  i met up with "jabberwock" last night, who took me a real american diner here in new jersey.

  it would seem the apostate community are the true "congregation", in that every time i meet with ex-jw's i am shown genuine hospitality.. jabberwock - thank you!!.

  The best ex-JW books - and what made them unique...

  at some point in my life, i would really like to write a book about my jw experience and jw teachings in general.

  however, if i did, i would preferably like to write from a unique angle that makes the book a little different from the many others out there.

  i can imagine some being quite self-indulgent, and i would want to avoid that wherever possible.. i must confess, due to a variety of circumstances i am not well read when it comes to all the various ex-jw books out there.

  yes indeedy.

  if you are fortunate enough to be approved you can report (as in be allowed to report) 15-minute increments.

  i knew that older ones, for example, were encouraged to report even the smallest amount of service and the cong.

  have i missed something by not browsing each and every posting here?.

  up till very recently, my two sons (one a jw and one, a non-jw) lived in the same community.

  the never-baptized son decided to move to a different u.s. state and within a few miles of my home i'm a df'd person as of 33 years ago.

  What a nightmarish tragedy; heartbreaking.... " I heared (sic.) this on the news, but the JW connection wasnt mentioned" so much for the "worldly press" sensationalizing the misfortune of the JWs.

  Two very important trends: outer-borough places, particularly in Queens and Brooklyn , are getting a lot of attention from foodies. With all due respect, Marchi's is a disaster, Manhattan's best Italian eateries are in the Batali-Bastianich empire, i.e. Babbo, Lupa, Esca and Del Posto. Lidia Bastianich's Felidia may not be trendy but it is superb. For under-the-radar French, try La Mangeoire or Cafe d'Alsace. For pizza, try Motorino Keste or Don Antonio. Of course, for a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience (and priced accordingly) there's Thomas Keller's Per Se; Daniel Boulud's Daniel or DB Bistro aren't too shabby, either.

  WT Indulging In Nostalgia, Soliciting Memorabilia; What's Up?

  you may have notice in a recent kool-aid watchtower, the announcement of its creation at headquarters of an archive of photos, objects, memorabilia, etc.

  i noticed that the lavishly upgraded assembly hall in buckingham, pa. now display in the lobby, glass cases with all sort of such objects.

  it wasn't long ago when they disparaged nostalgia as the preoccupation of spritually bankrupted wordlings who, bereft of any hope for the future, pitiably cling to memories of the "good old days"..... what's up with jehovah's "forward looking" people??

  You may have notice in a recent Kool-Aid Watchtower, the announcement of its creation at headquarters of an archive of photos, objects, memorabilia, etc. I noticed that the lavishly upgraded Assembly Hall in Buckingham, Pa. now display in the lobby, glass cases with all sort of such objects.   further to my previous post, this morning i have sent a pm on facebook to this potential jw study to see how his meeting went with the elder's.. will keep you all informed on the outcome..... on another note, there is a jw i can see on fb called leroy s.. here are some of his status updates:.

  ls: my study was reluctant to pray at first, now i can't stop him!!!

  his love for jehovah is growing such a beautiful thing to see!!!.
